Homeoprophylaxis (HPx) is a separate specialization within the field of Homeopathy. The goal of HPx is to educate the immune system towards greater vitality and increased resistance to targeted infectious diseases. HPx normally actives an immune response, however HPx may bring forward immune responses that are an expression of an underlaying chronic health issue. In dealing with infectious disease practitioners must correctly understand these processes and how to address these responses homeopathically if needed.
For health care practitioners with a minimum of 125 hours of homeopathic education, it is expected that these hours have set the foundation in homeopathic philosophy, Materia medica, repertory analysis, and case management.
